Rockhampton solo artist Upile Mkoka — that is, Weathered — is keen to show off his brand new single on theMusic.com.au today, a lovely song called Light.
The wistful track hails from his new EP Lunar, self-recorded and self-produced by Mkoka as he explored themes of isolation, the loss of hope and change.
"This was the first song written for the EP – it comes from a rough time in my life where I felt like I was totally alone, going about things in a completely different way than I’d been taught. That jump into the unknown was this daunting feeling, but ended up moulding the track in a completely unique way."
Weathered will be releasing Lunar later this month via MGM — for now, take a listen to the all-encompassing instrumentation of Light.
