PREMIERE: Villainy - Dead Sight

Kiwi alt-rock luminaries Villainy are about to be a whole new level of busy now that the arrival of their impending studio full-length, Dead Sight, is imminent, with its release this Friday preceding a joint headline tour with local heavyweights Jericco and Sydonia later this month.

Dead Sight stepped out strongly in its home country of New Zealand, making its debut at #4 on the country's charts and instantly garnering notice as a worthy successor to 2013's acclaimed full-length, Mode. Set. Clear., aided by strong early single releases such as Syria and the recently unveiled Safe Passage. The album was nursed to vivid life with the aid of producer Tom Larkin (Bodyjar, High Tension, The Getaway Plan) at Studios In The City, Melbourne, with engineering and mixing duties being handled by Los Angelean desk-master Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering.

The band kick off their Australian co-headline tour with Jericco and Sydonia from late next week, getting under way at The Zoo, in Brisbane, on Friday 13 November, heading down to the Factory Theatre, in Sydney, on Saturday 14 November (support from Majora and special guest TBA), Melbourne's Prince Bandroom on 20 November (with Majora and Gatherer), and coming to a halt (minus Sydonia) in Adelaide, at Jive, on 21 November (with Colibrium and Baltimore Poet). All three bands are deservedly renowned for their live performance, with Villainy adding to the acclaim with several well received shows to their name alongside the likes of Incubus, The Offspring, Billy Talent, Seether and Shihad, as well as newly announced shows opening for AC/DC across the ditch next month (12 December in Wellington, 15 December in Auckland).

Give the album a spin above, and set about sussing your tickets for Villainy's forthcoming headline tour with Jericco and Sydonia post-haste; they're available through several outlets (Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide) with more information available through tour promoters Collision Course.
