Brisbane pop punk trio Until Home have dropped their latest song/video today for Ink via theMusic.com.au, a change from their last single, Every Summer.
Ink is a quieter, balladic song with a poignant video to match. As the band's Michael Trapp (vocals/guitar) explains, "Ink is the most vulnerable track on the EP and so we knew we had to be careful not to take away from the song. Unlike the other two clips we decided not to use live band shots and rely more heavily on scenery and a relatable story line.
"We made the video in such a way that the meaning of the clip is left up to the viewer's own interpretation. Is the character avoiding his circumstances in the present by dreaming? Or is he reminiscing on the past? For me it is the first, but I like that it could connect with people differently."
Filmed in the Gold Coast — both on the coast and inland in the rainforest — the clip was shot in one very long 17-hour day. Trapp says his favourite part of the clip is during the sunrise shots on the jetty. "We only had a short window of time but sunrise was perfect and all the takes were amazing ... It’s the the last one, where a bird makes an appearance right after the last chord as if to help finish the clip. It’s true that some of the best things can not be planned."
