Melbourne trio The Red Lights have kindly given us the first listen of their new single 'Chaperone'!
Dean Valentino, Dave Liistro and Davin Johnston make up Melbourne group THE RED LIGHTS. Having just come home from touring with The Rubens, as well as playing a bunch of shows with some other local legends (Hunting Grounds, Bored Nothing), the dudes have dived headfirst back into the studio to finish recording their second EP.
In saying that, your pals here at Purple Sneakers are super stoked to premiere The Red Lights' new single, 'Chaperone'!
Pulling their sound from a range of influences, the end result sees theses guy burst with versatility. You'll definitely pick up on this upon listening to 'Chaperone', as this fresh single is quite different to the band's previous material; especially next to songs like 'Radio', 'Lesser Today' and 'Ghosts'.

From the soft guitar strums rung at the beginning of each first sung word of a verse to the passionate vocals that power all the way through, the charming 'Chaperone' has clearly been handled with much TLC as every single element to the song has been executed with much thought and detail.
The clarity of the gentle guitars glide over the sweet bassline, creating sophisticated relationships throughout the entire track. This is appreciated again in the chorus, as Valentino's strong voice is harmonised perfectly with his band member's backing vocals.
If 'Chaperone' is anything to go by, The Red Lights' forthcoming EP is sure to be quite a lovely new look for the band's impressive catalogue.
