PREMIERE: Saint Felix - Heather

Rising Melburnian muso Saint Felix made a decent splash with debut single Speak/Lie earlier this year, but, mark our words, he's about to start causing some sizeable waves with his follow-up cut Heather, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today!

Saint Felix's life-long love affair with intelligent, introspective pop began in prepubescence, when he was a seven-year-old tyke jamming out to Michael Jackson's seminal 1991 record Dangerous and albums by David Bowie, his childhood interests taking root and forming the foundation for the grown man's affinity for the thoughtful pop of the era and his consequent ability to wield it with weapon-like precision. His contemporary yet classic sounds sit starkly ahead of the curve as far as the '90s revival goes, layers of considered composition revealing a deceptive depth of soundscape not often heard in such hook-happy, ear-friendly settings.

Heather, like Speak/Lie before it, was produced by Kal Tonuma (The Temper Trap, The Mavis's), with additional production duties being handle by Daniel Nixon (K-Oscillate). The single will be officially released on iTunes and Spotify in a fortnight, on Friday 16 October.

If you're into it, head to Saint Felix's Facebook page and swing him a Like to keep on top of the man's movements and when and where you'll be able to cross paths with him in the near future.
