Sydney/Wollongong punk trio Raised As Wolves are a band making a bit of a name for themselves amongst the bustling east-coast punk scene, with a round of killer singles – topped off earlier this year with their most recent, I Need You – and slots supporting bands such as The Hard Aches, Tired Lion and The Living End (as well as the odd Yours & Owls performance and everything) pushing them towards the top. Their latest single Speech Therapy aims to capitalise on that rise, with the trio hoping the single will further drive them through that 'local punk band' category into something more national, and by the sounds of the track, it's probably got a fair shot.
It's a ripping, guitar-driven pop-punk tune in line with acts such as The Hard Aches, Ceres and West Thebarton (among many, many others), combining this driving guitar line with thick vocals that according to the band, tells a pretty relatable story. "Speech Therapy is the first track to be released from a recent recording session with more to come from the same session soon," the band's lead singer Brad says on the track. "Lyrically the song deals with leaning on someone emotionally, and trying not to take that for granted."
