"The reality is that watching semi-revealing or intimate moments in other peoples lives is literally what we’re doing everyday."
Streatham-raised, Melbourne-based producer Jimmy Cass today releases his newest work, In The Beginning, a short film and accompanying album that narrates part of Cass' childhood through on VHS footage.
The project comes just over a year after the release of Cass' album Chapters, and was initially released in 50 separate clips via his Instagram account. Described as "part album, part biopic, and part biopsy", the work has now been shorted into one near 20-minute piece.
"Although it’s an emotionally driven depiction of my childhood, it could be anyone's, really," says Cass on the vulnerability of sharing family moments.
"The reality is that watching semi-revealing or intimate moments in other peoples lives is literally what we’re doing everyday, I just added a widescreen and some cool music as part of my presentation."
