The Adelaide four-piece share another take of their unique dream-rock sound, with a tour soon to be announced..

Over the last two years, Paradise Club have emerged with the potential to be Adelaide's next big break-out act, following the likes of West Thebarton and Bad/Dreems as they, like many other artists born from the southern city, offer something vastly different to what the rest of the country is toying with, rising through promising versatility and uniqueness. Unlike the two aforementioned acts, however, Paradise Club's trademark sound is dreamier and more subtle, blending influences from this shoegaze-esque sound with mannerisms of rock and pop; almost like a more guitar-driven Postal Service, for example. It's a sound that's been front and centre through their gradual rise thus far - bookmarked by their 2017 debut Cap 2 and last year's impressive Heart of Gold - and something that seems set to continue into 2019, largely thanks to the release of Above Me.
Above Me marks Paradise Club's first release for 2019, and taking a few months away from the spotlight allows us to dive into Above Me head-first with anticipation and hope which, as expected, is completely met through the song's three-minutes-thirty duration. It's a shimmering dream-pop tune with thickly-layered guitar and subtle electronic elements, finding the halfway point between bands like the Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie as their lush melodies join emotionally-tinged vocals from frontman Gere Fuss, as he explains. "It's about working extremely hard, feeling incredibly helpless, and learning how to give your everything to save a relationship, whether it be platonic or romantic."
There's a lot more to come from the band, who in 2019, are primed to be pushed further into the spotlight as the inaugural members of new management company Planet Shhh - brainchild of West Thebarton's Josh Healey and Tom Gordon. There's also a full tour to be announced shortly, but in the meantime, dive into Above Me and get lost in its lush layers below:
