PREMIERE: Maples - Two Worlds

Eclectic, emergent Sydney-bred songstress Maples — Gabby Huber to the tax man — releases her eagerly awaited debut studio full-length, Two Worlds, this week, and theMusic.com.au is stoked to be hosting the exclusive premiere airing of the album in all its glory from today!

As makes itself swifty apparent, Maples isn't satisfied diving wholly into either acoustic or electronic soundscapes, instead deftly straddling both worlds with a sound that is as contemporary and of-the-moment as it is timeless. The record is the product of recording sessions across eight different studios spanning across an entire year, drawing in sounds from pianos, marimbas and vibraphones to guitars, drums and other percussion, fusing them expertly with technologically divined aural aspects such as synths and thoughtful programming techniques.

Three of the album's 10 tracks were co-written by The Presets' Julian Hamilton, with Maples self-producing the work alongside esteemed desk-man Dave Symes (Sarah Blasko, Boy & Bear) and Timothy Whitten (Powderfinger, Lanie Lane, Youth Group) handling mixing duties.

Maples will be launching the album at Newtown Social Club on Tuesday 17 November, with support from Suiix. See theGuide or check The Music App for full booking details.
