PREMIERE: Julia Henning - Away From Me

Acclaimed Adelaide songstress Julia Henning and her band are only a couple of weeks off appearing at the imminent WOMADelaide event early next month, but before they hit the stage at the 'world's festival', they're unveiling the super-fun new video for fresh single Away From Me, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today.

The infectious, ethereal new track's semi-meta clip finds Henning and her cohort feverishly searching for the perfect music video idea as they work their way through well established MTV-esque tropes such as Boy Band, Hipsters, Interpretive Dance, Pool Party and so on. It's a deceptively simple but very effective technique, which, alongside clap-alongs and irresistable harmonies, makes for thoroughly entertaining viewing.

"The idea for the music video came about on tour," Henning explained of the concept in a statement. "We were throwing around ideas, but none of them seemed right until our keyboardist, Matt, suggested combining all our silliest ideas together for a ridiculous tongue-in-cheek take on classic music video tropes.

"It was so much fun to film; having just finished a tour, it was nice to be able to relax as a band and have a laugh at ourselves again. I think that feeling really comes across in the video; we were having such a great time."
