HalfwayQueensland alt-country heroes Halfway have just released their brand-spanking-new studio full-length, The Golden Halfway Record, as of Friday and, to celebrate the new work, The Music is stoked to be premiering the video clip for recent single Bret Canham's Leather Jacket today.
The track, which The Music premiered as a single early last month, tells the tale of an adolescent acquaintance of Halfway core duo John Busby and Chris Dale, a fish out of water in the isolated reaches of central Queensland who eventually high-tailed it for greener, metropolitan pastures when he came of age.
Rather than complicate matters with a narrative video, however, its accompanying clip — filmed locally at none other than The Triffid — finds our stalwart eight-piece in their element, resulting in a live performance-style showing of the group in all their glory to provide the visuals for the song's rollicking strains.
The Golden Halfway Record is available now.
Halfway will launch the album at home in Brisbane on 29 April at their video shooting location of The Triffid. See the band's website for ticketing details.
