Emergent Australian punk four-piece Glitoris are "commemorating" the inauguration of Donald Trump as the United States President by today unveiling their blistering new track, Trump Card.
Premiering on theMusic.com.au today, the new song takes its lyrics from some of Trump's more memorable campaign quotes, particularly his penchant for branding everything south of the US border as being filled with "drugs, crime and rapists", and his oft-repeated promise: "We're gonna build a wall".
Underneath, the acidic, unleashed vocals, the song's no-frills aggro-rock hallmarks help to create a brilliantly acerbic and political protest tune of the sort befitting a group so dominantly building their renown of late.
Trump Card follows the group's recent, acclaimed debut release, The Disgrace EP, and sets them up to keep the torch of defiance they so evidently bear with pride burning brightly as they move forward into the rest of 2017. The track was recorded at Infidel Studios, Queanbeyan, by Duncan Lowe, with mixing by Lowe and Samantha Bennett, and mastering by Andrew Edgson at Studios 301, in Sydney.
