Multi-faceted muso Ezekiel Ox has been a busy man this year, not only involved in the Superheist reunion and putting out new material with his Over-Reactor project but also finding the time to record and release fiery new single In The End.
The guitar-driven track — a healthy mix of hip hop, deep funk and good, old-fashioned punk-rawk — is a typically socially conscious effort from the in-demand vocalist, a furious reflection on capitalist government suppression and oppression.
The tune's drums, bass and guitar lines come courtesy of Steven Smith (Briggs, Terracotta Pigeons), who also handled the engineering and mixing, as well as co-starring with Ox in the accompanying film clip, proudly premiering on theMusic.com.au today.
The simple but extremely effective video takes a dashboard's-eye-view of the pair as they drive around Melbourne, giving Ox a chance to let loose as he spits out the song's forceful lyrics from the passenger seat.
