PREMIERE: Dos Boy - Run It (Ft. Kwasi)

Melbourne-via-Byron rapper Dos Boy has unveiled the video clip for new single Run It, featuring fellow Melburnian hip hop artist and producer Kwasi, and The Music is stoked to be premiering it today.

Describing the video as "dark and symbolic", Dos Boy conveys a sense of isolation throughout his verses, setting the video in largely barren locales such as a parking lot and closed-up shopping centre, while Kwasi mans chorus duties from a rundown motel room. The ultimate message is one of transitioning from "running away" to "running it", a self-affirmed reflection of his journey since his relocation to Melbourne.

Dos Boy — whose real name is Dane Birks — broke away from the beachside surrounds of his home town of Byron Bay in pursuit of his musical goals. His first single, Edith Cowan, was engineered by ARIA-winning producer Cam Bluff (Illy, Hilltop Hoods, Seth Sentry, Allday).

The young artist released his debut EP, Off The Rip, in late 2016, racking up more than 10,000 SoundCloud streams for his Joe South-produced track Like Drugs. Run It — produced by HFNR — marks the start of a new chapter for the up-and-comer, and you can keep on top of his movements and new releases by connecting with him on Facebook.
