Premiere: Dizzy Planet - Break Me Down

Fremantle-based garage-punk/alt-rock three-piece deliver blistering new single - listen a day ahead of release.

After releasing their previous EP Back Brake Pedal last year, Fremantle trio Dizzy Planet have been busy in the studio cooking up some rollicking new cuts including new single Break Me Down, out November 22 but premiering on Pilerats today.

Opening with fuzzed out guitars and soon met by a driving rhythm section, the intro of Break Me Down soon kicks into overdrive as the tempo and intensity get cranked up to 11 in thrashy fashion, capped off by vocalist and guitarist Brad Campbell’s emotional & impassioned vocals.

Featuring an interesting arrangement, Break Me Down gives way to addictive, singalong-inducing alt-rock style choruses before featuring a tension building titular breakdown and finally switching up with an in your face climax and fuzzy resolution.

With the band also featuring Carlota Rivera (Last Quokka) on drums and Hayley Wellington on bass, Break Me Down marks the first time all three members have contributed to the writing process, with more music still to come as they gear up for the release of the Shellshock EP early next year.

In the meantime, give Break Me Down a spin a day ahead of release:
