In case you're yet to be acquainted, Azura is the rising musical alias of Brisbane's Lauren Coutts, who over the last few years, has become quite a dark horse in Australia's electronic scene, getting closer and closer to 'breaking out' with every release. Her newest, Yours, is the closest she may come yet, with the musician teasing her upcoming Mars Violet EP - expected sometime later this year - with a dreamy, washed-out electronic landscape that deepens her production skillset while also teasing a faint and hazy vocal line. Production-wise, it's a track that never quite reaches its climax, with Azura taking you down a more mellow, Bonobo-esque path with a percussive electronic soundscape deepening with more and more layers as the single continues. "I was talking to a friend on the phone and realised that I was falling for him," says Azura on the single. "I wanted to be his, and I wanted him to know, but I was terrified - caught between wanting to shout it from the rooftops and bury the affection in a deep, dark place. I hung up and wrote this song. This is the first song I’ve written that doesn’t really have a chorus. Yours follows the emotional journey of falling in love, from first crush to that final head-over-heels moment of bravery where you tell the truth. I wanted the song to literally mirror this journey: it begins tentatively, tumbles through the darker middle section and ends on a moment of clarity. All I can hope is that this song inspires someone to follow through and tell whoever they may love the same thing: let me be yours."
