Christopher PortAnnie Bass and Christopher Port are both emerging Australian talents we've earmarked for big things in 2017. The former was first cab off the rank in our Artists To Watch in 2017 post, while Christopher Port is an artist we've featured numerous times over the past six months. And wouldn't you know it, following Annie Bass's breakout debut While I'm Waiting from early last year, when talented young people combine, damn good stuff happens - today in the form of their new single, Don't Want.
Stepping back from production duties on this occassion to let her sultry vocals shine, the track is jam-packed with emotion, featuring a fractured, 2-step beat combining with warm but somber synths, for something really special. Of the collaboration, Annie Bass said: "I saw Chris play at Volumes in Sydney earlier in the year and it was one of the best sets I’ve ever seen, his production was so dynamic. I hit him up straight away and the stars seemed to align. The track shifts between a conversation with myself, and a conversation with another."
