Sam Ford - Bandgropers

"Get down to watch the mighty Bandgropers and Newshounds do battle in the perth Reclink community Cup. It'll be inflated bodies and sculptured egos clashing together for a great cause. Personally, I'll be sucking in the oxygen and sipping ice tea in the Ford pocket. Go Bandgropers!"

Jason Cleary RTRFM - Newshounds

"I have been trying for years to get this one rolling, and it has been a big task, but it is for a great cause - sport and the arts! After a couple of training sessions, though, I am starting to realise what attempting to play a game of footy means: a lot of pain. We really want people to get behind it, raise some money and celebrate all the good people involved in the community media and music industries in Perth. After 20 years of playing in bands I have found myself lining up against the musos in the media team, so c’mon the Newshounds!

Davey Craddock - Bandgropers

“Sport and the arts are such powerful community-building institutions in Australia and it’s a privilege to be able to help raise money for Reclink’s programs for the disadvantaged in these areas. Training with all the musician, media and industry people has really reminded me what a great community of people there are working in the music industry in WA and it’s been heaps of fun getting together at training and stirring each other up in the lead up. From a community-building point of view, I feel like we’re getting just as much out of the process as Reclink. It’s a win-win."

Sam Scherr - Newshounds

"The Bandgropers may have youth on their side, and they may have experience on their side as well. They don't have their own radio station though, so they probably shouldn't try and get too cute out there if they care about their stupid bands. Which they probably do cause they're dorks."

Chris Wheeldon - Newshounds

"A lot of people have been saying it will be a lot of unfit people running around after more unfit people all for a good cause."

Sarah Norton - Newshounds

"This is my first game of footy and I can't wait for bouncedown. Training has been exciting and really enjoyable. It has brought home the many benefits of getting people together through sport. C'arn Newshounds!"
