Peninsula Picnic Focus: The Cat Empire

More The Cat Empire The Cat Empire

Answered by: Harry Angus

Band and role: Trumpeter, The Cat Empire

What would we find in your dream picnic basket? As I open the basket a cloud of butterflies escape into the autumn sunlight. A trout that was plucked from a stream, cooked with a bit of butter and parsley. A cold beer.

What's your favourite wine to bring on a picnic and why? I like to drink other people’s wine. If you have a well-to-do friend with a nicely developed palate, bring them.

What are you most looking forward to about Peninsula Picnic? All Our Exes Live in Texas, such a great band to go with the slow-cooked pork and lobster remoulade drizzled over a grapefruit rind canapé in my left hand and an accordion solo.

What do you think about one-day boutique festivals like this where the food and drink component is just as important as the music? It’s nice to be pelted with quality local produce instead of tasteless Coles and Woolworths tomatoes which are usually still half frozen.
