What made you want to get involved with Newtown Festival Week? The SlyFox has been been an integral part of the Newtown night culture for many years now. We want to continue supporting the wonderful suburb which we love, work and live in.

What is it about Newtown that makes it a great place to hold events or have a business there? The wonderful cultural melting pot that makes 2042 the epicentre of Sydney's heartbeat. Its countless people from all walks of life, young and old, each bringing a flair and flavour that makes Newtown stand out.

How would you describe Newtown to someone who hasn't been there before? The eclectic arts and music centre of Sydney, a smorgasbord of cafes, restaurants the world over, lashings of hole-in-the-wall cafes, and a plethora of bars, pubs and lounges which keep Sydney's late night heart beating.

What ways do you think Newtown could be improved? It's not what can be done, it's what shouldn't be done. Gentrification, commercialisation, development and suffocation of its late night scene are all very real risks facing Newtown which risk the loss of Newtown's energy.

What are you doing to celebrate Newtown Festival week? We'll be opening the doors to our late night, low light music emporium to the wonderful beings of Newtown and programming an all live and local line-up of music to support our local acts.
