Newtown Festival Week Focus: Marlborough Hotel

What made you want to get involved with Newtown Festival Week? Most of us here at The Marly are Newtown locals who not only love the festival but the precinct as a whole. Also, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre does great things for our community!

What is it about Newtown that makes it a great place to hold events or have a business there? The receptive, diverse and kind-hearted folk of Newtown are what makes this place. There are so many wonderful acts, performers and artists to interact with and work together on events in our area.

How would you describe Newtown to someone who hasn't been there before? Tolerant, free-spirited and always interesting. It often has a small town feel with a strong sense of community and is welcoming to people of all walks of life.

What ways do you think Newtown could be improved? More live music!

What are you doing to celebrate Newtown Festival week? We are throwing a big festival afterparty with free entry from 5pm at Marlborough Hotel. Featuring live tunes from Skegss (pictured), Food Court, Le Pie, Black Zeros and Solid Effort — it's going to be huge!
