"Bargains, recycling and inclusivity are what we do best, and we feel this fits in perfectly with what Newtown is all about."

Answered by: Emma Daniels — Dear Pluto director

What made you want to get involved with Newtown Festival Week? We wanted to contribute to the community, by providing a space where everyone and anyone can come together and sell things they've made or found or just no longer need.

What is it about Newtown that makes it a great place to hold events or have a business there? Newtown is such a vibrant and bustling place, filled with eco-conscious, community-minded people. Bargains, recycling and inclusivity are what we do best, and we feel this fits in perfectly with what Newtown is all about.

How would you describe Newtown to someone who hasn't been there before? Allsorts, the name of our market, is also reflective of Newtown as a whole, where everyone is made to feel welcome, regardless of their gender, sexuality or style — the way it should be everywhere!

What ways do you think Newtown could be improved? Reversing the lock out laws would obviously benefit the area by spreading out nightlife across the city, rather than concentrating it in the one area!

What are you doing to celebrate Newtown Festival week? I'll be bargain hunting and supporting local creatives by purchasing their wares at Dear Pluto's Allsorts Market at Newtown Hotel, seeing local bands, drinking Young Henry's, eating burgers at Mary's and soaking up the sunshine.
