What made you want to get involved with Newtown Festival Week? Coopers has had a long history of working with the Newtown Neighbour Centre, that provides much needed support to the community.

What is it about Newtown that makes it a great place to hold events or have a business there? Newtown has such a diversity of people living harmoniously. It's a place where unique ideas are welcomed and thrive; this is also represented in Newtown commerce.

How would you describe Newtown to someone who hasn't been there before? Surry Hills without a showy or pompous attitude. Sydney's strongest community, as diverse as one can be living harmoniously. Newtown encourages conversation, participation and understanding and it's this approach that keeping it a peaceful environment

What ways do you think Newtown could be improved? KEEP IT WEIRD.

What are you doing to celebrate Newtown Festival week? Monday = Bingo. Wednesday = Mitch Anderson & His Organic Orchestra. Thursday = 2-for-1 meals (Newtown loves a bargain). Sunday = bands all evening to keep the festival rockin'.
