Szymon’s latest single, Golden, proves that beauty can last forever..
We closed our previous write-up of Szymon’s first single, Katyusha, with an idea by David Eagleman about how we die three times - a reference to that Szymon Borzestowski had in fact passed away a couple of years after a long-running battle with depression: "The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time." And as we begin to hear more of the young artist's work posthumously, the third moment looks like it will be well into the future with another beautiful release in his second single, Golden. Golden also serves as the first time we hear Szymon Borzestowski’s voice, which shares similarities with Angus Stone and David Hosking of Boy & Bear circa Harlequin Dream. But the similarities stop there as the gentle harmonies, rough-filtered guitar rasps and tingling mood wash you away in a sense of nostalgia.
