Melbourne Guitar Show Focus: Alison Ferrier

What was the best piece of advice you were given when you first started learning guitar? I'm not great at taking advice when I'm learning something but Jeff Lang told me that repetition is my friend. Eventually your muscle memory kicks in and you can rely on that. So true!

What's your fave guitar/amp/pedal set-up? My 1970s Japanese Hondo II Strat copy, pedals of choice being a Boss DM-3 delay, digital reverb RV5 and Super Overdrive SD-1 and a Box Of War fuzz into a 1960s Melbourne-made Eston Super 20 amp.

If you could jam with one person, who would it be and why? Chris Wilson, because he's one of the finest musicians in the world. His belief in me is an immense gift. Whenever I have self-doubt I think, "Well, Chris Wilson digs me, so fuck it!"

If money wasn't an issue, what guitar would you buy and why? I'm not really into the very expensive guitars (must be my op-shop nature) but I would love a 1960s Teisco ET-440 in blue with its four single-coil pickups and floral pickguard. Oo-er!
