The Youtube Comment Orchestra

Answered by: Bron Batten

Describe your show in a tweet? A performance where all content is made from and inspired by YouTube comments. It also has a craffle each night (crap raffle).

In a fantasy world who would you be the love child of? I would be the love child of Mulder and Scully.

Why did you decide to do Fringe 2014? We’ve been doing Last Tuesday Society shows at pubs, clubs and festivals for the last six years but this is the first time we’re doing an extended season – so we’re really excited about that. The YouTube Comment Orchestra is on as a part of the 2014 Helium independent program at Malthouse Theatre, so it’s great to have support from both Malthouse and Fringe. A double whammy if you will.

Tell us a bit about the creative team working on this project? Along with co-producer/host Richard Higgins and myself we’ve got some of our favourite artists working on the show: Mish Grigor from Sydney performance collective post, I’m Trying To Kiss You; Vachel Spirason from Total Giovanni; Madeleine Tucker who’s the most famous Safeway checkout chick in all of Brunswick; Lara Thoms; and our very own poet laureate Telia Nevile. It’s a massive line-up that changes week to week.
