Market Focus: Sydney Flower Market

24 November 2015 | 4:34 pm | Artist Submission

What kind of products are available at your market? The Sydney Flower Market is Australia's largest market for fresh cut flowers. There are around 170 traders, all of whom are flower growers with farms all around the state. Thanks to the range of climates that can be found in NSW, many of the flowers for sale are locally grown. As well as fresh cut flowers, you can find potted plants and florist supplies such as ribbon, wrapping, foam and other sundries.

What's the design/atmosphere of your market? The Flower Market's traders mainly supply florists in the Sydney area, regional NSW and the ACT, but the market is also open to the general public.

How does your market stand out from other markets? The Flower Market is the place to go for buying in bulk and you'll be spoilt for choice, so do a lap before you start buying to see what's available. Come early for the best selection.

Tell us about the food, drink and entertainment that will be at the market: There are multiple cafes onsite at Sydney Markets Flemington, including a few near the Flower Market.
