Dear Mum, In preparation for our Mother’s Day Celebrations, which of course will be fun; what with all that gift wrapping, forced family time and sentimental Hallmark cards, I have decided I need, no wait I HAVE to, rock up to the “mighty womb of the indie music scene” that is MUM @ World Bar (Friday May 4th).
So I know you want me to spend a bit on your gift, and it’s O.K I can! Students are free before 10pm; it will basically be rude not to go with that kind of an offer. Not only will I be saving my moola but I know how much you wanted me to do better at Spanish and as far as I am aware drinking Sangria is the first step in this educational process, and coincidence much, Sangria is $5 (as well as beer) all night…Say “WHAT?!”

So don’t worry Mum, everything is going to work out great and I promise this year I won’t saunter home covered in lip stick stains, clutching ripped clothes (and the arm of a bearded hobo) with a monkey on my shoulder…O.k. I can’t guarantee the monkey but I think you will agree that’s a tough promise to make.
