Our favourite bearded South Australian drops a tune with real feels..

From the ages of about 7 to 15 my alto saxophone and I were joined at the hip. I often regret throwing in the towel on this treasured instrument; especially when I hear tracks like Oisima (Anthony Wendt)'s latest, Grovers Lament. Featuring the outstanding woodwind talents of Adam Page, the release is a swirling piece of beats and brass. Slack drum claps and keys join forces, creating a neat underlay, allowing Page’s notes to take centre stage. Amongst this smooth concoction of sound, Oisima heightens the atmosphere, weaving in droaning synth tones and a soulful vocal cut.

Oisima has this rare talent of crafting beats that actually set a mood, with this one I’m picturing myself lounging on a leather sofa, tea in hand with the sun spilling in through an open window.
