Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”: A song that will never get old through time. A song that no matter what generation you were born in still manages to get stuck in our heads.
Well… why not put a modern experience to those amazingly surreal lyrics. Young Norwegian music producer KYGO succeeds in doing just that as he transforms “Sexual Healing” into an even more exotic track.
The beat starts strong and the song is unidentifiable. A jungle-esq mixture of percussions start to seep in through the track which lifts the mood of the song. Snippets of Gaye’s voice start whilst the steel drums and other exotic sounds play in the background, complementing his uniqueness.
The beat stops and starts through the song so that the emphasis is, and will always be on the vocals themselves. The combination of sounds and percussions in the background make “Sexual Healing” a happy and even more vibrant song then it was.
It is the perfect relaxing by the pool with a drink in hand tune…..or can still be used for its original intentions of seduction.
