When did you start making music and why? The Coves formed 2009, following Pete’s discovery of The Replacements and Tom Petty, resulting in an inspired purple patch of songwriting.

What other events/gigs are you looking forward to at Leaps & Bounds? The Townes Van Zandt tribute. There was one recently in Brunswick but he deserves all the love he can get.
What do you think is the best thing about a festival like Leaps & Bounds? I have no idea. That it has little to do with the MCG?
What are your favourite places to hang out in the City of Yarra and why? Gasometer, as it’s a top music venue and has a retractable roof – which means you can kind of smoke indoors, which is nice for some folk.
Why should people come and see your band at Leaps & Bounds? Simply, we’ll be playing timeless songs by a great songwriter. Our band is pretty good and our friends are attractive.
