There was a time when Ladyhawke, riding high on the crest of indie-electro goodness that was the Modular era, was the queen of indie-dance music in Australia. Breaking out as the vocalist on PNAU's Embrace, she released her debut album featuring bangers like Paris Is Burning and My Delirium, won a bunch of awards and toured the globe. But since releasing follow-up album Anxiety in 2012, it's been pretty quiet from the Ladyhawke camp, which according her, is for a pretty simple reason: “I’ve never released anything I’m not proud of. That’s important to me. I don’t want to release anything that I have a weird feeling about.”
Well she's been bunkered down working on something she is happy with, and it looks like that's gonna be a new album called Wild Things, and today she's unveiled the first track from it - A Love Song. It feels like pretty classic Ladyhawke, which funnily enough almost sounds like current CHVRCHES, and bodes well for her sliding right back into our lives.
