Groundwater Country Music Festival is set to take over the Gold Coast next week (27-29 July), and we’ve enlisted Australian country music star James Blundell to help navigate this year’s epic line-up.
Here are the five acts you don't want to miss at Groundwater 2018.
The McClymonts
There’s been so much written over the years about The McClymonts. Simply, they are delightful people, witty, charming, savvy, but above all, great musicians.
Kirsty Lee Akers
One of my favourite acts of all time. Kirsty and I have worked together a lot over the years. She’s tough, sensitive, funny, cheeky, and thought provoking. I haven’t seen her on stage for a while, so am thoroughly looking forward to catching her set.
Chloe Styler
I could be accused of insider trading here, but I’ve watched Chloe develop over the past five years into one of the strongest emerging acts on the scene. A great writer, with a unique sense of melody and lyric. She’s my ‘wild card’ pick for festival favourite this year.
Bill Chambers
Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter
There’s only a handful of players who can hold your attention with just voice and instrument. Bill is one of them. Wonderful storyteller, with a world of experience to draw from, every time I’ve seen him perform has been different and engaging. I’m sure he’s performing with accompanying musicians, and you can put money on the fact they’ll be the best in the business, don’t miss it.
O’Shea
Simply brilliant. Amazing vocals, brilliant playing, top quality songs. Another ‘don’t miss them’ act.
Blundell’s 30 Years Of Pride tribute concert will see the revered musician performing his greatest hits at the Gold Coast event alongside Brewn, Ben Ransom, Jonny Taylor, Cameron Daddo, Harry Fenton, Briar Blundell, Drew McAlister, Tania Kernaghan, Felicity Urquhart and more.
