In a new interview with Variety, the trio also admit that they're beginning work on their next project following the success of Solace..

If you're at all a fan of Australian dance music, chances are you've seen one of RÜFÜS DU SOL's infamous live shows since their debut album Atlas brought them national - and then international - fame. While their home-country sets are a bit rarer nowadays - a byproduct of the group mostly spending their time in the US, where they are quickly growing a cult audience to rival Tame Impala as one of Australia's biggest modern musical exports - they've toured their latest record SOLACE around the country a couple of times now, and it's safe to say they're one of the best live electronic acts there is out there, and definitely among Australia's best live acts full-stop too.

RÜFÜS DU SOL's live show is incredibly special for a lot of reasons. They were one of the first major electronic acts to push a fully live structure to their live show (ODESZA among them) and their live shows often breathe an entirely new life into their recordings, emphasising the beauty in tracks like the long-winding Innerbloom to the heaviness of some of their work when it's revisited and turned into its most vicious form; the trailing drops of Eyes and Underwater somehow feeling a little more potent when it's executed and worked into a live setting.

In a new GRAMMY-focused interview with the band via US website Variety, it sounds like we might be soon able to recreate some of that RÜFÜS DU SOL live show magic without having to wait for them to wrap up their next record and come down under again. Asked whether they'd be recording their new work in the same location as their last, the trio responded: "We have a trip out to the Valley Of the Yuccas planned in April for a few weeks. We recorded a live album out there late last year. No one knows about that just yet, so I guess this is the exclusive on that."

They then go on to tease that they're ready to get cracking on SOLACE's long-awaited follow-up: "We loved it so much out there we thought that we need to come back on our next writing trip and set up here for a couple of weeks and really dig into some ideas."

Over their careers, RÜFÜS DU SOL have experimented with a couple of release formats - their most recent was a remix album of SOLACE which included a VIP remix of Eyes - but a live territory is an entirely new market for the group, and one we really can't wait to hear pulled off with that signature RÜFÜS DU SOL sheen.

Stay tuned for more details to arise soon.
