The Sunshine Coast Real Food Festival is on this weekend. Mm-hmm.
Expect more than 100 food and food-related exhibits (just to cover all bases), plus 88 sessions across seven venues, over two days. The line-up includes more local and nationally-recognised chefs and presenters than ever before, with a focus on the region's best produce.
The 58 speakers include chefs such as Christine Manfield, Matt Golinski, Javier Codina, Dan and Steph Mulheron, and Cameron Matthews, and presenters Tammi Jonas, Dr Nick Rose, Rhonda Hetzel, Dr Cherie Hugo and more.
Producers Cedar Street Cheeserie, Walker Farm Foods, Peachester Farm, Good Harvest, Sunshine Coast Brewery, Kidaman Beef and Rhodavale Pork will each team up with a chef to create dishes with local produce that will no doubt cause mass salivation.
The festival also hosts sessions about food writing and blogging at new venue Eat My Words, cooking demos, expert presentations, garden workshops, and kids activities. All in all, it'll be a day of excellent eating and drinking and learning about all things food and food culture.
All of this for a $20 ticket — with kids under 16 getting in free.
