Hot Spot: ONE Tea Lounge & Grill

Are you a green tea lover? Do you choose matcha-flavoured everything? Perhaps, then, you would love David Yip's recently opened green tea-themed venue, ONE Tea Lounge & Grill. Yip's family were pioneers for matcha and green tea in Australia, so Yip has gone an extra step to incorporate his family heritage into his restaurant and bar.

From 11am for lunch, then dinner, cocktails and more, ONE Tea Lounge & Grill serve up unique green tea-/matcha-infused menu items, including the Matcha Baoger — a fusion of the traditional Asian bao and burger infused with matcha (and green tea mayo!). Yip is quite the food innovator — you might remember his creations from previous Night Noodle Markets, the Rice Burger and the Ramen Burger. Even the fries are not your ordinary fries: ONE's Matcha Fries are done with green tea salt, seaweed or shichimi. Then for dessert, try an Ice Cream Baoger (choose from green tea, black sesame, lychee or red bean flavours). Wash it down with the Matcha Made In Heaven cocktail: vodka, lime, Japanese Green Tea and yuzu finished with a spray of salted nori, served in a Japanese teapot.
