Hot Spot: Ballarat Beer Festival

8 January 2016 | 3:23 pm | Staff Writer

It might be called Ballarat Beer Festival, obviously with a focus on amazing beer, but everyone (non-beer drinkers! Even kids!) will have a cool time at the Festival because food is for everyone. So let's talk food.

The Festival will be on 16 Jan, 11am—8pm, at Ballarat's City Oval, but there will be a Friday night four-course degustation with matching beers on 15 Jan at the venue, if that's your thing. It'll be headed by Chef Daniel Wilson of Melbourne's Huxtable and Huxtaburger, and tix are $102. Let's not forget the show: live music will be provided by local musicians Zeebz vs Miss Vitula.

At the Fest itself, some of Melbourne' favourite food trucks will be present to satiate your appetites. Try the mushroom and halloumi burger from The Little Mushroom Co, or get some of Nem 'N Nem's Vietnamese street food in your tum. Who could say no to potato twirls on a stick — cheers, Tornatoes. Need more options? There's Round The Way Bagels, SquidInc, Bavarian Bangers and many more. Repping the locals will be Ballarat restaurants Squires Loft and The Forge Pizzeria.
