Why Horace Bones Are Inspired By Loud Shirts

Oisin Kelly of "loud, belligerent, liberating, horror punk" act Horace Bones has a memory to rival Dory's from Finding Nemo. The band have only been together for a year, but he doesn't remember too much about their inception other than the fact that they "got together while living in a share house in Melbourne. Our story so far is kind of like the plot of Alien Vs Predator except we still live in a share house."

Recorded at Alamo Studios under producer Daniel "renaissance guru of the sonic universe" Caswell, their five-track EP Son Of The City was "something formed through our collective conciseness and telepathic mind bonking." They were inspired by, "our drummer's wardrobe of loud shirts, which are impressively bountiful to say the least. All our songs are based on them." So what are we to expect from a bunch of songs about eye-searing shirts when they're played live?

"I can't say we've ever played a song the same way twice. The way we played them on the recording was how we felt like playing them that day. In saying that, we're not some experimental jazz ensemble; we just get bored easily." Fair nuff.
