'I Wanted My Album To Feel Bigger Than Just Music': Charley On 'The Chronicles Of A Serial Idealist'

Have You Heard: These Guy

"Then I got up and rocked out."

When did you start making music and why? I started trying to make music seriously about six years ago. Just for something to do in the small town I'm from (Bundaberg 4670 Represent #rumcitybaby) and because I found that I like doing it.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Full moon tropical rainbow.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Another Green World by Brian Eno. It does exactly what I think an album should, and it's in the title. It creates a complete, beautiful world of its own that you can visit whenever.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? At one show I tried to jump across the stage with my guitar in order to enhance the effect of one particular song, but I fell onto the drum kit and almost eliminated myself. Then I got up and rocked out.

Why should people come and see your band? Because we really want to make people feel nice. Do you know what I'm saying? The people fucking deserve it.

When and where for your next gig? 28 Apr, Woolly Mammoth.
