How did you get together?
We got together when I moved over from England. The first person I met off the plane was Laf; we started working on some of my demos and found a rhythm section.
Sum up your musical sound in four words?
Energetic, spiky, wordy, incisive.
If you could support any band in the world – past or present – who would it be?
The Clash. I think we’d be a good warm-up for them, and it’d be great to see them again.
You’re being sent into space, no iPod, you can bring one album – what would it be?
Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True. That’s a pretty perfect record right there from start to end. I think we’d all be happy with that choice, even if we were unhappy to be in space.
Greatest rock’n’roll moment of your career to date?
So many so far, the freshest was our last Cherry Bar gig. It was chaos; stage invasions, wall-to-wall dancing, fights. The whole room went nuts! It was cool to be part of it, especially the main part.
Why should people come and see your band?
We are professional entertainers. Everyone leaves our shows a bigger fan than when they came in. Satisfaction guaranteed.
