Have You Heard The Dunes

"If you like obscene amounts of fuzz, delay and reverb, plus LSD flashback-inducing visuals, we're your friends."

Answered by: Adam Vanderwerf

When did you start making music and why? The Dunes as you see us now formed in 2013, but we had been around a while before that. We make the type of music we want to hear.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Psych Shoegaze Drone Fuzz.

If you could support any band in the world - past or present - who would it be? This changes regularly, but we have all been smashing GOAT lately, so we'd choose them at the moment.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? 13th Floor Elevators' Easter Everywhere would be a contender. The songs are so perfectly written and arranged and the tones are incredible. Slip Inside This House is a mind-trip everyone needs to hear.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Playing Sydney Psych Fest was a trip. We got to hang out with a bunch of friends at the same time in the same place, see some incredible bands and be inspired by what we saw.

Why should people come and see your band? If you like obscene amounts of fuzz, delay and reverb, plus LSD flashback-inducing visuals, we're your friends.

When and where for your next gig? Grace Emily Hotel: Fridays in July, A Brattish Affair 2 Aug and Immigrant Union album launch 8 Aug.
