When did you start making music and why? I always wanted to be a shipping magnate, but my parents told me I needed to get a real job, so I started a ten-piece band.
Sum up your musical sound in four words? Immoral, audible, turgid, tonay.
If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be? We provide constant financial support to The White Stripes. They're really doing it tough at the moment...
If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? The 1981 original London cast recording of Cats spliced together with frantic Indian brass band music. They complement each other really nicely.
Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Every now and again, while the band gathers backstage before a big show and ritualistically slaughters several endangered sea birds, I think to myself, "This is what making music is all about..."
Why should people come and see your band? I think that Sydney-siders need to realise how ugly we all look in person. Not sure they realise that yet?
When and where for your next gig? The Basement, 23 Aug.
