Have You Heard: Mickey Kojak

When did you start making music and why? After finishing my Associate Diploma in classical piano when I was 16, I bought a MicroKorg XL and started making whacked-out fusion jazz — my twisted version of picking up a guitar and playing punk tunes

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Aggressive. Analogue. Synths. Synths...

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Daft Punk's Discovery was life-changing. I never really thought electronic music had any merit until hearing that album, it shows the full capacity of what electronic artists can and should be doing with their music.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? The day after playing Alison Wonderland's most recent warehouse show in Adelaide, I managed to sleep through three alarms (was eventually woken up by a hotel manager bashing on my door) and missed my flight back to Sydney.

Why should people come and see your band? I guarantee a sick party and good times. I also bring out half-time oranges and M&M's for maximum enjoyment.

When and where for your next gig? You can catch me playing on 23 Dec with Slumberjack at SOSUEME at Beach Road Hotel.
