Have You Heard: Mcrobin

Answered by: James McGuffie

When did you start making music and why? I started singing in my mate's instrumental band in high school. I didn't know that half of the songs they were playing were covers so I accidentally wrote lyrics to a bunch of RHCP songs.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Patient. Vast. Dynamic. Hypnotic.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Songs Of Leonard Cohen. The songs paint such distinct, vivid imagery, but at the same time there's such a vague, undefined nature to the lyrics that I never get sick of inserting my imagination into.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Playing a 10am set at Mount Beauty Festival to a sold out marquee of less than enthusiastic pensioners and retirees.

Why should people come and see your band? So they can hear what happens when you mix influences like Fleetwood Mac, Wilco, Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley together.

When and where for your next gig? 16 Sep, Wesley Anne.
