Have You Heard: Josh Johnstone

22 August 2016 | 3:07 pm | Artist Submission

When did you start making music and why? I started playing when I was ten, on a guitar purchased from a swap meet for about five bucks. Dad was in a band, it showed me how much fun it can be on all levels.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Hooky, indie, folk-rock.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? One album for the rest of my life?! I guess the Travelling Wilburys' debut album. At least then I can in one way listen to a bunch of my favourite artists at the same time.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Its a tie between playing at The Big Day Out in Australia, or at Positivus Festival in Europe. Both were electric performances in front of huge crowds that gave the band and myself such a buzz.

Why should people come and see your band? This will be my first show back in Australia after three months, so let's have a welcome home party!

When and where for your next gig? 24 Aug, The Oxford Circus, with  local support from Joel Leffler.
