When did you start making music and why? I was a 14-year-old girl that had a serious crush on Zac Hanson. I though if I played the drums in a cool band, that maybe I could meet him.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Really really really cathartic.

If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be? The Replacements. They were the perfect band, always hit and miss, but they had the songs to back it up.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Carb On Carb by Carb On Carb. It's just such a beautiful album encompassing everything I love about music — powerful emotive pop songs.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? My old children's band for adults, Origami Girls, would snort glitter, eat glue and make unconventional craft. We made themed costumes for every show, generally playing DIY punk shows with a team of back-up dancers. It was pretty rock'n'roll.

Why should people come and see your band? Come to see happy people play sad songs.

When and where for your next gig? 8 Aug, Reverence Hotel with The Hard Aches.
