Artist/Band: Grand Pavilion
Name: Tom Hunt
When did you start making music and why? We both grew up playing music from a young age and later realised it's a great way to meet cool people and explore the world, plus we'd definitely go crazy without this creative outlet.
Sum up your musical sound in four words? Tropical Chilled Electronic Textural
If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be? Supporting Odesza would be incredible — they're killing it at the moment. We love their sounds and visual show!
If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? That's tough but it would have to be Bonobo's Northern Borders which has had a huge influence on our sound and sonically it's super immersive. He's a master of his craft.
Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date?: We did a sick gig at the Queen of Hoxton in London last year which we did on Australia Day/night and things got out of hand. We have vague memories (and polaroids) of bottles of champagne and relocating someone's garden.
Why should people come and see your band? We've got a great mix of chilled and dance driven tracks with live beats/instruments and an audio reactive projection show!
When and where for your next gig? We just got down to Sydney and are playing the Imperial Hotel Newtown tonight — Beach Road Hotel tomorrow night.
