Why should punters visit you? To listen to great emerging talent that Melbourne has to offer and ultimately, to support Melbourne's live music scene and the amazing talent our city has to offer at an amazing venue.

What's the history of the event? The Real Songwriters of Melbourne is a Melbourne music initiative designed to give artists the opportunity to showcase themselves. Established in 2014, RSOM began profiling artists on our blog and now [we do] live performances.

Any advice for first timers who want to visit the event? Come along if you want to experience a new kind of sound. Each act will take you into another world!

Who's performing this time around? We have soulstress Mo Louie, alternative/folk duo Little Theatre, singer/songwriter Connor Ross and '60s rock'n'roll band Napier. Also, producer Aybner will be hitting the decks!

Do you have any plans for the event in the future? Here at RSOM we put musicians first as we are constantly thinking about creating more opportunities for unheard artists to get their voices heard. We are always looking at different avenues and areas.

When and where for your next event? 1 May, The Workers Club, Fitzroy.
