Why should punters visit you? While being a dedicated live music venue, we also have an amazing bar, food and authentically friendly service. We all really love this place, which I think you can feel.
What's the best thing about the venue? The intimacy of the space, plus on any given night we have such a diverse range of folk in the room having fun. Music is universal so it always attracts a varied and interesting crowd.
What is your venue doing to help the local music scene? We are very supportive of new bands coming through, and actively book local artists. We love watching bands develop and evolve and Newtown is flooded with amazing artists from all genres.
What have been some of the highlights at the venue? Having Prince come post-Sydney show has got to be a highlight! Plus Elvis Costello, Boy & Bear, Washington, You Am I, The Tea Party, Iota, Passenger, Jason Mraz, Gin Wigmore, Anthony & The Johnsons.
What are the plans for the venue in the future? Survival has got to be the top priority! In Sydney, dedicated live music venues are like an endangered species. Venues will only be preserved if everyone regularly leaves home and attends shows.
