With a debut single out soon, their Jury's Out mixtape will give you an idea what's coming..
If you like your music with plenty of low-end, we reckon you're gonna enjoy a fresh new two-some out of Perth - Hung Jury. A couple of mates who've been doing their own thing separately for a number of years now, they've linked up to form Hung Jury, and down-tempo, bass-fueled electronic thumpers seems to be their game. To announce the project they just unleashed a steaming 30-minute mixtape, and we sent them a few a questions to find out a little more on what's to come:

Our names are Bart and Scotty. We’ve been besties for about eight years now. We played sets under our own names at clubs and festivals over the years and now we have this new project we’re working on.
What kinda tunes we talkin’?
Downtempo/electro/house/techno/ish. Our tastes are broad and we like listening to all kinds of music, so that kind of comes through in our own stuff. Influences range anywhere from Mark Reeve to Rezz to Golden Features.
Production/writing process:
One of us will start an idea, and if it looks promising we’ll work on it together for a day to see where we can take it, then we’ll lay everything out in to a basic arrangement and from there it gets chucked back and forth between us until we’re happy with it.
Can you tell us about your Jury’s Out mixtape?
It's a mixed bag of tracks we're currently vibing with some of our own WIP's and a forthcoming single that we’re releasing later this month. It’s very much an elevator pitch type mix so you know what to expect from us.
Any shows coming up?
We’re looking to start playing out following Electronic Music Conference, and have just announced a NYE Rooftop Party with some big internationals we're playing at, along with jumping on the Circo Loco lineup at Metro City next January 26.
What’s the rest of the year have in store?
We have our debut single Skinny Cat coming out on the 22nd of this month. Following that, we're looking at putting an EP together with some of the tunes we have ready to go. Our current focus is music creation and establishing our identity as artists.
Where can we hear more of your music?
Currently, SOUNDCLOUD is the place to be, but all our stuff will hit iTunes, Spotify etc. following their release.
